Review of Case Records for Minister Lee Sang-min Incident

A police agency official stated at the regular press briefing on the 17th, "The investigation as a witness took place on the 15th," adding, "No charges have been filed yet."
Since the Yoon Seok-yeol administration took office, Acting Commissioner Park has been appointed to key positions including the Personnel Verification Team of the Presidential Transition Committee, the National Situation Room of the Presidential Office, Director of the Police Security Information Bureau, and Director of the Police Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
It was revealed that Acting Commissioner Park made several phone calls immediately after the martial law declaration with Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho, former Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, and Police Security Bureau Chief Lim Jeong-ju.
The police investigation into former Minister Lee has not yet proceeded. A police agency official said, "We are currently reviewing the case records transferred from the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO), and there is no schedule being coordinated," adding, "The Deputy Commissioner of the Fire Agency was investigated as a witness before the case was transferred."
Arrest warrants for Kim Seong-hoon, Deputy Director of the Presidential Security Service, and Lee Kwang-woo, Head of the Security Headquarters, were re-applied for but are currently under review by the prosecution. A police agency official stated, "Supplementary investigations have been sufficiently conducted," and "There has been no response yet."
