Applications for Quick Payment Recipients Begin on the 17th

Temporary support of up to 300,000 KRW for delivery and courier fees for small business owners has begun. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service announced that applications for the 'Small Business Delivery and Courier Fee Support Project' have been accepted since the 17th.

This project provides temporary support for delivery and courier fees this year to alleviate the management burden on small business owners aggravated by high inflation and high interest rates. Eligible applicants are individual or corporate businesses with annual sales under 104 million KRW in 2023 or 2024, who have delivery or courier transaction records and have not closed their business as of the application date.

Small business owners who can apply starting today are classified as 'Quick Payment' recipients. To reduce the documentation burden on small business owners, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, with the cooperation of six delivery platforms and delivery agencies, has prepared a database of approximately 80,000 companies eligible for quick payment. Small business owners included in this database can receive support funds by simply entering information such as their business registration number and account number without submitting additional proof documents. When entering the business registration number at the application stage, eligibility for quick payment is confirmed. Even if the initial support amount is less than 300,000 KRW, if delivery fee records are confirmed by December this year without additional applications, the difference will be paid up to a cumulative maximum of 300,000 KRW.

Those who are not eligible for quick payment but qualify for confirmation payment can apply in April. To this end, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to prepare verification methods for delivery and courier fee usage amounts, which small business owners must enter, by the end of next month.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Park Seong-hyo, the director of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, inspected the status of the small business delivery and courier fee support, which began accepting applications from 9 a.m. Park visited the 'Small Business Delivery and Courier Fee Support Situation Room' set up on the 2nd floor of the Daejeon headquarters of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, checked the status of application commencement and system processing, and encouraged the staff of the management stabilization team in charge of the project. Earlier, on the 13th, ahead of the application start on the 17th, Park visited the 'Small Business Delivery and Courier Fee Support Call Center' to ensure smooth guidance and conducted a preliminary inspection of preparations and difficulties.

Director Park said, "I hope this support will alleviate the management burdens of small business owners struggling with high inflation and high interest rates," and added, "The Small Enterprise and Market Service will do its best to ensure that this policy is supported quickly and thoroughly until the end."
