Asan City to Invest Over 2.2 Billion Won in Reducing Livestock Odor

Free Year-Round Support for Manure Treatment and Compost Maturity Testing

Asan City to Invest Over 2.2 Billion Won in Reducing Livestock Odor Business Details.

Asan City in South Chungcheong Province announced on the 17th that it will invest 2.28 billion won to implement a project aimed at reducing livestock odors.

This project includes support for odor reduction and moisture control agents, as well as composting machinery and equipment.

The city will also provide free maturity testing throughout the year to prevent the spread of odors and soil contamination.

Maturity refers to the degree to which compost materials have stabilized through the composting process and can safely interact with plants and soil. Livestock farms that have reported manure discharge are required to undergo this test once a year, while licensed farms must do so twice a year.

Jang Eunsuk, head of the Livestock Division, stated, "Odor issues are an important challenge in balancing the development of the livestock industry with environmental protection," adding, "We will continue to create a sustainable livestock industry environment."
