Customized Online Training for Elementary School Teachers Ahead of the New School Year
Grade-Level Programs to Strengthen Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Skills
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education to Support Systematic School Planning
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Acting Superintendent Choi Yoon-hong) will conduct the ‘2025 New School Year Customized Online Training’ for elementary school teachers ahead of the new school year starting in March. This online training will be held over three days from the 17th to the 19th, with approximately 7,350 elementary school teachers in the Busan area expected to participate.
This online training is designed to support the establishment of school education plans and to strengthen teachers’ capabilities in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
The Office of Education plans to share practical curriculum operation methods that can be applied in school settings through this grade-level customized training and to help teachers prepare for the new school year more systematically.
On the first day, the 17th, the training will be provided for homeroom teachers of grades 1 and 2, covering ▲ how to use the supplementary teaching material for early adaptation activities, ‘Exciting 1st Grade’ ▲ understanding and practical application of inquiry-based lessons ▲ student-tailored assessment methods ▲ diagnosis and guidance methods for Korean literacy levels.
On the 18th, training will be conducted for homeroom and specialized teachers of grades 3 to 6, including ▲ understanding career-linked education and practical cases ▲ designing and applying inquiry-based lessons ▲ understanding student assessment ▲ how to use the localized teaching material ‘Life in Busan’ ▲ support for ensuring basic academic skills.
On the final day, the 19th, training will be provided for those in charge of academic affairs using NEIS (National Education Information System), focusing on ▲ revised guidelines and changes for recording in the 2025 school year student records ▲ NEIS task processing procedures, aiming to reduce teachers’ workload and improve work efficiency.
Choi Yoon-hong, Acting Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “Through this training, we expect that a systematic school education plan will be established, and teachers in all schools will be able to focus on instruction and student education from March, the start of the new school year, leading to substantial school educational activities.” He added, “We will continue to support the strengthening of teachers’ capabilities in curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure that Busan education becomes the center of education in the Republic of Korea.”
