According to Hanam City on the 17th, this evaluation was conducted based on official statistics and quantitative indicators targeting 17 metropolitan local governments and 226 basic local governments nationwide. The city achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Grand Prize and Silver Prize in the Corporate Support and Alley Economy categories respectively, based on outstanding policy execution and performance.
Hanam City won the Grand Prize in the Corporate Support category by receiving high scores in the number of businesses, number of employees, and year-on-year growth rate?criteria that evaluate corporate vitality?through active support policies to create a 'business-friendly environment.'
In 2024, Hanam City further promoted regional economic growth by supporting local companies' overseas market entry through contract promotion targeting countries such as Vietnam and Japan.
Hanam City also established the Corporate Investment Attraction Ordinance, created an investment attraction team and a corporate attraction center to build a business-friendly environment, and focused on attracting excellent companies through large-scale corporate IR events.
As a result, Hanam succeeded in attracting major companies such as the headquarters relocation of Seohee Construction, Roger Nine Co., Ltd., a golf equipment manufacturer and seller of PXG, BC Card R&D Center, Bobath Hospital of Lotte Medical Foundation, and Dow Industrial Development to Hanam.
The Silver Prize in the Alley Economy category was the result of Hanam City's continuous efforts to enhance the competitiveness of traditional markets and small business owners.
The construction and remodeling of three customer support centers in traditional markets increased convenience for merchants and visitors, and the active issuance of the local currency 'Hamoney' contributed to increasing sales for small business owners.
Furthermore, Hanam City revitalized visits to traditional markets through support for traditional market activation, facility environment improvement projects, and expansion of the 'Traditional Market Day' event. At the same time, it worked to protect alley markets by guiding and promoting practical policies of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, such as small business policy fund support, free legal support, and electricity bill support.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae said, “This award is the result of Hanam City's continuous efforts to attract companies and strengthen the competitiveness of small business owners,” adding, “We will continue to spare no multifaceted support so that companies and small business owners can grow.”
The mayor emphasized, “Hanam City will pursue more innovative and sustainable policies to revitalize the regional economy.”
Hanam City plans to continue various efforts to revitalize the local economy by newly establishing an investment attraction division to actively promote large-scale development projects such as Camp Colburn and K-Star World and corporate attraction, creating specialized startup ecosystems through startup innovation spaces and startup campuses, and strengthening small business support policies.
