Daedong Officially Launches Agricultural Transport Robot... Full-Scale Entry into Robot Market

'RT100' Unveiled
Targeting Domestic Fruit Farms

Daedong announced on the 17th that it officially declared the launch of the agricultural transport robot 'RT100' through the '2025 Domestic Dealership General Meeting.'

According to Daedong, the domestic agricultural transport vehicle market is about 6,000 units annually, and especially the demand for autonomous mobile robots is rapidly increasing. Daedong developed an autonomous driving transport robot, anticipating that the market will grow at an average annual rate of more than 27.5% over the next five years. This product is expected to provide an alternative to the aging rural population and labor shortage issues, as well as offer a new agricultural environment responding to climate change and population growth.

The transport robot 'RT100' was developed in two models?wired following and autonomous driving?targeting the fruit farming market to solve the inconvenience where workers have to continuously operate agricultural machinery while harvesting fruit. Daedong plans to first release the wired (wire) following transport robot in February, followed by the autonomous driving following transport robot in April.

'RT100' uses a wire, enabling easy operation even for women and elderly farmers, and provides work convenience through a function that follows the user at a certain distance. In particular, the on-the-spot 360-degree rotation function proves effective on the narrow farm roads of fruit farms. Its electrified system, which is noiseless, vibration-free, and emission-free, reduces work fatigue and allows indoor operation, which is also a strength. Additionally, it features four-wheel drive to easily navigate various rough terrains, a maximum 300 kg loading capacity, and lift and dump functions. Furthermore, it maximizes work efficiency by adding autonomous driving functions through user settings.

With the launch of the 'RT100,' Daedong plans to focus on domestic fruit farms to establish a business foundation for securing the agricultural robot market. The company aims to supply a cumulative total of 10,000 transport robots by 2029. Lee Gwang-wook, head of Daedong's Domestic Business Division, said, "The domestic distribution and activation of agricultural transport robots and the resulting changes in the future agricultural environment make the RT100 launch a new turning point for Daedong and domestic agriculture." He added, "Daedong will continue to introduce AI-based innovative products that enhance the sustainability of domestic agriculture through expanded research and development investment."
