Former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo stated that the Moon Jae-in administration offered former People Power Party lawmaker Yoo Seung-min a cabinet position, but Yoo denied this, saying it was "completely untrue."

On the 16th, Yoo posted on his Facebook, "'In 2017, President Moon Jae-in offered Yoo Seung-min a cabinet position, but it did not materialize,' as claimed by former Governor Kim, is completely untrue."

He added, "No one from the Moon administration ever offered me a cabinet position," and requested, "I ask former Governor Kim to immediately retract his false statement."

On the same day, Kim stated on MBN's 'Jung Woon-gap's In-depth Analysis,' "After the 2017 impeachment candlelight revolution brought President Moon Jae-in to power, he believed cooperation with the opposition was important and offered cabinet positions not only to People Power Party lawmakers Ahn Cheol-soo and Yoo Seung-min, but also to former Justice Party lawmakers Roh Hoe-chan and Shim Sang-jung, and former People's Party lawmaker Kim Sung-sik; however, none of these offers materialized."

This statement came as Kim emphasized the need for unity among forces supporting the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol. Kim said, "Looking back now, such a method of unity and cooperation is not easy within our political culture," and added, "To avoid repeating such trial and error, if the regime changes this time, all forces supporting the impeachment should participate together in transition committees or similar bodies to discuss policies."

He further stated, "Political forces supporting (President Yoon Suk-yeol's) impeachment should all participate in the cabinet to form a governance coalition capable of comprehensively reforming the Republic of Korea."
