Jangseong County in Jeollanam-do has been selected for the regional autonomous sports activity support project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, securing a project budget of 300 million won including national funds.
According to the county on the 17th, this public offering provides national funding for newly planned sports-for-all projects that are designed considering local conditions such as population structure and facilities, following a screening process.
The county proposed a 'customized sports-for-all class' and was selected for the project, and is currently preparing to open and operate seven popular classes among residents: badminton, basketball, aerobics, yoga, table tennis, golf, and tennis. The project will run for a total of three years.
County Governor Kim Hanjong said, "I hope this project will serve as an opportunity to increase interest and participation in sports-for-all," adding, "We will continue our efforts to create a high-quality environment for enjoying sports."
