Applications for the 'Youth Growth School' Open from February 17... Three Sessions, 20 Participants Each
New 'Youth Policy Division' Established to Provide Systematic and Practical Support
Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced the establishment of the ‘Youth Growth School’ to support the growth and stable social entry of young people by providing customized education.
The ‘Youth Growth School’ is a comprehensive program designed to help young people solve various concerns they face in life beyond simple employment support. It operates in 1st to 3rd sessions tailored to the youth’s circumstances, covering everything from job preparation to social life and financial management.
The 1st session targets ‘job-seeking youth’ and strengthens essential employment skills such as aptitude tests, special lectures on hiring trends, and preparation for self-introduction letters and practical interviews. The 2nd session is for ‘early-career youth’ and provides essential workplace information including stress management, basic finance, and practical training on work tools. The 3rd session addresses ‘settled youth’ with practical information on financial strategies, housing and contract-related laws, dating, and marriage.
Each course consists of practical content that can be immediately applied in daily life, and young people can choose the session that fits their current situation. In addition to lectures, opportunities are provided to interact with peers and share concerns.
The Youth Growth School targets young people aged 19 to 39 who reside or live in the district, recruiting 20 participants per session. Applications open from February 17, and interested individuals can apply via the QR code on the information poster. For more details, inquiries can be made to the district office’s Youth Policy Division.
The district established the ‘Youth Policy Division’ in January this year to further strengthen youth support. Currently, various systematic policies for youth are being promoted, including support for national qualification exam fees for unemployed youth, youth financial academies, weekday night and weekend job projects for youth, and operation of the official ‘Yeongdeungpo Youth’ cafe.
Additionally, Mayor Choi Ho-kwon is touring all 18 neighborhoods through the ‘One Table Tour’ to listen closely to the realistic concerns and opinions of young people. Communication with youth will continue until March.
Mayor Choi Ho-kwon of Yeongdeungpo-gu said, “I hope this will be an opportunity not only to gain information necessary for employment but also for daily life and to grow independently. We will continue to develop practical policies reflecting the voices of youth and create a young city, Yeongdeungpo, that grows together with its youth.”
Geumcheon-gu Hosts ‘Your Geumcheon Market’ Sharing Economy Event with Youth Participation
Held on March 8 at 12 PM in front of Geumcheon-gu Office... Seller Recruitment from February 17 to 21
Various programs including flea market, performances, and experience zones
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) announced that it will hold a resident-participatory flea market ‘Your Geumcheon Market (Danggeum Market)’ with youth on March 8 from 12 PM to 4 PM at the Geumcheon-gu Office plaza.
The event was planned to help the youth generation empathize with the meaning of the ‘sharing economy’ and experience the ‘virtuous cycle of sharing,’ thereby expanding volunteer participation and encouraging environmentally conscious consumption.
The district is recruiting residents to sell various handmade crafts such as accessories and keychains, as well as reusable clothing, toys, books, and other secondhand items at affordable prices during the event.
From February 17 to 21, 32 seller teams consisting of 2 to 4 people will be recruited, and sellers must be able to sell at least 20 items. Family teams including youth such as elementary, middle, and high school students will be given priority.
Residents wishing to sell can apply by accessing the QR code on the promotional materials. Selected teams will be individually notified on February 25.
On the day of the event, alongside the flea market, performances by professional singers including those who sang background music for famous dramas, youth, and office workers will be held. Additionally, various experience zones such as carbon-neutral lifestyle practice, recycled goods exchange, balloon art, and sock yarn crafts will provide enjoyable and educational experiences.
A marketplace for social economy and small business artisans in the area to sell handmade goods and communicate will also be operated, along with a charity market. Visitors who purchase items and submit a receipt at the management booth can also enjoy caricature drawing experiences.
Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon said, “I hope the ‘Danggeum Market’ event will be not just a one-time flea market but a ‘sharing and circular economy space’ where talents and local resources coexist, as well as a ‘cultural content space’ that communicates and empathizes with the younger generation.”
The district has been steadily operating the ‘Danggeum Market’ in connection with local festivals such as ‘Busking Day,’ ‘Harmony Festival,’ and ‘GC Festa’ last year. About 1,000 residents participated, enjoying the festivals and sharing handmade goods and collectibles, contributing to the virtuous cycle of resources. The schedule and content of the event may change due to weather or unavoidable circumstances.

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is publicly recruiting groups or organizations to participate in the ‘2025 Excellent Lifelong Learning Club Support Project’ from February 18 to March 4.
The ‘Excellent Lifelong Learning Club Support Project’ was established to foster a voluntary lifelong learning culture among local residents and activate talent-sharing activities. Last year, a total of 29 clubs such as ‘Donghwa Hantam,’ ‘Hada,’ and ‘Sinbaram Nanta’ were supported, actively participating in exhibitions and performances at daycare centers, welfare centers, and local events.
This year, 30 clubs will be selected and supported. Selected excellent lifelong learning clubs will receive activity funds ranging from 600,000 to 700,000 KRW per club for direct learning-related expenses such as instructor fees.
Eligible applicants are learning clubs composed of at least seven adults, with more than 70% of members being Jungnang-gu residents, and must conduct regular activities at least once a month. Additionally, clubs must be registered as lifelong learning clubs on the Jungnang-gu Lifelong Learning Center website by the application deadline. However, the following are excluded: simple social gatherings without learning activities, clubs centered on instructors or lacking autonomous activities beyond attending lectures, clubs supporting specific political parties or religious activities, clubs composed solely of students enrolled in formal curricula including universities, and clubs receiving subsidies from administrative agencies for the same content.
Interested clubs can download the application form from the ‘Announcements/Notices’ section on the Jungnang-gu website, complete it, and submit it in person to the Education Support Division of Jungnang-gu Office. For more details, refer to the Jungnang-gu Office and Lifelong Learning Center websites or contact the Education Support Division.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “Lifelong learning clubs are learning communities where residents practice learning, and as the lifelong learning culture spreads, the foundation of ‘Lifelong Learning City Jungnang’ will become stronger. We will continue to provide unwavering support so that residents can enjoy the joy of learning and sharing.”
