The Chinese Embassy in South Korea expressed concern over an incident in which a supporter of President Yoon Suk-yeol, dressed as the Marvel character 'Captain America,' attempted to break into the embassy.

On the 15th, the Chinese Embassy told domestic media, "We are concerned and regret that this incident occurred," adding, "We have conveyed these concerns and regrets to the Korean government." They continued, "We understand that the Korean police responded at the scene and are investigating the incident," and added, "We will wait for the investigation results to be reported."

Earlier, at around 7:36 p.m. the previous day, a man in his 40s named An, a supporter of President Yoon, attempted to break into the Chinese Embassy in Myeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, taking advantage of the embassy door being open, but was caught on the spot by police on suspicion of attempted trespassing.

At the time, An, dressed as Captain America, reportedly said, "I will carry out a terror attack on the Chinese Embassy" before committing the act. After his arrest, An claimed via social media that "the purpose was to send a message to make people feel the anti-China sentiment firsthand."
