The meeting, held on the 13th at the main conference room of the university headquarters on Dong-A University's Seunghak Campus, was attended by headquarters members and related department staff from both universities, consortium major (module) responsible professors, and students from both universities.
The "Policy Network" plays a role in pre-mediation and coordination of decisions within the Glocal Consortium governance community, as well as enhancing the likelihood of policy success through communication and participation among members (students, professors, staff, industry, etc.).
At the 2nd meeting held that day, agenda items such as gathering opinions for the successful operation of the "consortium majors" were discussed.
Previously, the Dong-A University-Dongseo University Glocal Consortium decided to establish Field Campuses and operate consortium majors focusing on Busan's four specialized areas: Energy Tech, Cultural Contents, Human Care, and B-Heritage. A "Field Campus" refers to a university advancing into the industrial field to cultivate specialized professionals through innovation of the industrial ecosystem based on social demands and future predictions within the industry.
Starting from the 2025 academic year, four majors will be operated first: in the Energy Tech field, "Hydrogen Energy" (responsible professor Han Seung-ho, Dong-A University) and "Power Semiconductor" (responsible professor Kim Yoon-kyung, Dong-A University); in the Cultural Contents field, "Advanced Contents" (responsible professor Park In-seon, Dongseo University) and "Convergent Design" (responsible professor Shin Hye-kyung, Dongseo University).
From 2026, majors in the Human Care field, "Human Meta Care," and in the B-Heritage field, "Heritage Contents," are also planned to be established.
Students participating in the consortium majors will be provided with various benefits such as scholarships, overseas explorations, and extracurricular programs to enhance job competencies, and the number of applicants from both universities is expected to increase sharply.
At the 1st Policy Network Meeting held at Dong-A University in July last year, agenda items such as "Student Demand Analysis for Establishing Glocal Consortium Promotion Strategies" were discussed.
