Bio regenerative medicine specialist company CGBio discussed local production of medical devices, technology cooperation, and medical talent development plans in Indonesia.

CGBio announced on the 14th that it met with the Minister of Health and Welfare of Indonesia. The meeting was attended by CGBio CEO Yoo Hyun-seung and Indonesia’s Minister of Health and Welfare Budi Gunadi Sadikin, among others.


At this meeting, CGBio specifically discussed plans to establish a medical device manufacturing plant in Indonesia and expand production using local resources. Additionally, through joint research with the University of Indonesia, regarded as the top national university in Indonesia, they plan to develop products suited to the local medical environment and continue to expand research cooperation going forward.


They also discussed ways to support the development of medical talent to help the Indonesian medical industry grow. To this end, CGBio plans to establish the 'Kadeba Training Center' in Bali, providing education that allows medical staff to practice in environments similar to actual surgeries. Furthermore, in cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Welfare, opportunities will be arranged for Indonesian medical personnel and officials to receive training in Korea and directly experience advanced medical systems.


Yoo Hyun-seung, CEO of CGBio, said, "Local production of medical devices is not simply about building a factory, but it holds important significance in enabling Indonesian citizens to receive higher quality medical services more conveniently and contributing to health promotion." He added, "Through this cooperation, we plan to actively support the Indonesian medical device industry to become more self-reliant."


He continued, "CGBio aims to be not just a simple product supplier but a partner leading the growth of Indonesia’s medical device manufacturing industry. We will conduct research and development in collaboration with local medical staff, expand technology transfer through abundant medical education programs, and based on this, strive to establish Indonesia as a medical device hub in Asia," he emphasized.


Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health and Welfare of Indonesia, said, "The recent COVID-19 pandemic made us realize once again that local production and technological independence of medical devices in Indonesia are essential." He added, "CGBio’s plans to expand local production, research cooperation, and medical talent development are expected to make a practical contribution to the advancement of Indonesia’s medical device manufacturing industry."
