Ulsan City to Participate in 'Kumamoto Castle Marathon 2025'

Strengthening Cooperation with Kumamoto City, a Friendly Partner in Japan, on the 15th

The Ulsan City delegation will visit Kumamoto City, a sister city in Japan, from the 15th to the 17th to participate in the "Kumamoto Castle Marathon 2025" event.

The Kumamoto Castle Marathon has been held annually in mid-February since its first event in 2012, with about 13,000 participants.

The city will send a Ulsan City delegation of six members, including amateur athletes from the Athletics Federation and city officials, at the invitation of Kumamoto City.

On the first day, the 15th, the Ulsan City delegation will conduct a preliminary inspection of the marathon course.

Then, on the 16th, after participating in the marathon, they will attend a welcome dinner hosted by Kumamoto City to discuss plans for cooperation in sports and cultural exchanges.

A city official stated, "Through participation in this Kumamoto Castle Marathon, we aim to further strengthen friendly cooperation with Kumamoto City and widely promote the event by inviting the Kumamoto City delegation to the 22nd Taehwagang International Marathon, which will be held on March 29, to make it an international event."

Since signing the sister city agreement on April 26, 2010, Ulsan City and Kumamoto City have engaged in exchanges in various fields, including mutual participation in international marathons and Korea-Japan friendship concerts.
