"Children's Safety First"... Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Inspects School Routes at So-ui Elementary School

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, conducted a safety inspection of the school routes for students of So-ui Elementary School on the morning of the 13th.

The school route from the main gate to the back gate of So-ui Elementary School is about 4 meters wide, which is narrow, making it difficult to install sidewalks, and there were many concerns that vehicle traffic posed a safety threat to the students.

In response, Mayor Park Gang-su personally checked the road width with the relevant departments and carefully examined the eco-friendly high-pressure pavement blocks installed throughout the road to reduce vehicle speed.

Afterwards, he discussed ways to enhance the safety of the passage with officials from the relevant departments, school representatives, and parents. After inspecting the site, Mayor Park Gang-su said, “The school route that students use every day to go to and from school must be safer than any other road,” adding, “Mapo District will do its best to create a school commute environment where both parents and students can feel secure.”

‘Filled with Beautiful Melodies’ Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo District Attends ‘Very Small Concert’

On the afternoon of the 13th, Mayor Park Gang-su attended the ‘1st Hapjeong-dong Small Concert of 2025’ held at ‘Down Church,’ the second branch of Hyodo Bapsang in Hapjeong-dong.

The concert, hosted by the Hapjeong-dong Community Center, is part of Mapo District’s ‘One Neighborhood, One Specialized Project’ called the ‘Very Small Concert’ initiative, designed to allow residents to enjoy cultural activities in various local venues without having to visit a concert hall directly.

At the concert, the choir of children from Hapjeong Daycare and Park So-hyun’s geomungo performance delighted the eyes and ears of about 50 elderly attendees at Hyodo Bapsang.

Following this, an impromptu singing contest among participants kept the concert atmosphere lively and full of laughter. Before the concert began, Mayor Park Gang-su said, “We aim to hold ‘Very Small Concerts’ throughout the region so that all residents can enjoy and experience music in their daily lives,” adding, “I hope everyone enjoys the ‘Very Small Concerts’ held across Mapo.”

Mapo District’s ‘Very Small Concert’ project is scheduled to take place in all 16 neighborhoods this year.
