"Turnaround Achieved for Now"
Nine New Titles to Be Released This Year
Netmarble announced on the 13th that its operating profit last year turned positive to 215.6 billion KRW, compared to an operating loss of 68.5 billion KRW the previous year. Netmarble had recorded annual losses for two consecutive years, with -14.4 billion KRW in 2022 and -68.5 billion KRW in 2023.
Last year's revenue increased by 6.5% year-on-year to 2.6638 trillion KRW. Net profit turned positive at 6.3 billion KRW.
Operating profit in the fourth quarter was 35.2 billion KRW, up 87.2% compared to the same period last year. Revenue and net loss were 649 billion KRW and 166.7 billion KRW, respectively.
By region, North America accounted for the largest share at 46%, followed by Korea at 17%, Europe at 15%, Southeast Asia at 9%, and Japan at 6%. Last year, the overseas sales ratio was 79% (2.113 trillion KRW), down about 4 percentage points from the previous year.
By genre, the sales ratio was 40% for casual games, 39% for RPGs, 13% for MMORPGs, and 8% for others. By individual games, 'Marvel Contest of Champions' accounted for 13%, 'Jackpot World' and 'Ratcha Slot' each 8%, 'Cash Frenzy' 7%, and 'Solo Leveling: ARISE' 6%, among others.
Netmarble plans to release new titles such as 'RF Online Next', 'Seven Knights Reverse', 'Game of Thrones: King's Road', and 'King of Fighter AFK' in the first half of this year. Additionally, a total of nine new titles, including 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin', 'The RED: Heir of Blood', 'Mongil: STAR DIVE', 'Project SOL', and 'Solo Leveling: ARISE (Steam)', are scheduled to be launched within the year.
Netmarble CEO Kwon Young-sik said, "After two years of losses, although last year did not meet market expectations, we place significance on having succeeded in turning around. This year, we will solidify the foundation to make a leap forward, focusing on highly anticipated new titles."
