At the meeting, it was announced that, through preliminary permit reviews, 2,300㎢ out of 8,068㎢ (an area capable of 40GW) of the targeted floating offshore wind area could potentially support 10GW.

Next, the Tidal Flat Research Institute of Mokpo National University presented the results of the fisheries impact survey and various coexistence measures between offshore wind power and the fisheries industry, drawing attention from fishermen. The meeting concluded with an explanation of the necessity and site selection for maintenance bases.

Governor Park Woorang stated, "Floating offshore wind power is an industry attracting global attention and is a promising future industry. Following fixed offshore wind power, we will successfully complete the remaining project phases for floating offshore wind power and establish the world's largest 18.2GW offshore wind farm complex."
