Up to 3 Million KRW Support Per Project
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is recruiting participants for the ‘2025 Yongsan-gu Village Community Contest Project’ until the 10th of next month.
The Yongsan-gu Village Community Contest Project is promoted to revitalize village communities by providing residents with opportunities to discover local issues and proactively solve them.
Applications are open to any resident group of three or more people based in Yongsan-gu. Selected groups will receive support ranging from 2 million to a maximum of 3 million KRW. The project will be conducted for about six months from the date of signing the agreement with the district office until the end of November this year.
The contest fields include ▲Environment (climate environment, prevention of illegal dumping, recycling, etc.) ▲Education (childcare, co-parenting, parent education, etc.) ▲Human Rights (support for single-person households, companionship with the vulnerable, discovery of welfare blind spots, etc.) ▲Safety (spreading safety culture, checking risk factors in daily life, resolving safety blind spots, etc.) ▲Others (other projects that align with the purpose of village communities and can solve social problems), totaling five categories.
Groups wishing to apply must submit their applications by 6 p.m. on March 10th via email to the project officer at the Yongsan-gu Office’s Autonomous Administration Division. Required documents include a proposal, plan, participant list and task assignment chart, and personal information consent form, which can be found on the Yongsan-gu Office website under Yongsan Introduction - District News - Notices/Announcements.
The support recipients for the contest project will be announced in May after three rounds of evaluation. Yongsan-gu will provide consulting and job training throughout the entire project period to ensure easy participation for everyone. First, pre-consultation support is offered from the application and submission stage.
Applicants can receive basic counseling on village community projects and guidance on writing proposals and plans from village support activists. During the project implementation, regular consulting support and workshops will be held to help residents smoothly carry out the project. At the end of the project, a performance sharing meeting will be held to provide an opportunity for residents to share their achievements.
District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “Through the village community contest project, we expect residents to develop community capabilities and become the main actors of Yongsan-gu,” and added, “We ask for active participation from residents who have always been interested in solving local issues together with their neighbors.” For more details, please contact the Resident Cooperation Team of the Autonomous Administration Division at Yongsan-gu Office.
