On the 12th (local time), Scott stated, "It is very encouraging that the President of the United States enjoys golf and understands the challenges currently facing professional golf," adding, "The President can be a great help to professional golf, and I hope this will contribute to the growth of everyone involved." Scott also said, "If the President assists with the merger issue between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, the process will move forward at a faster pace."

Scott and PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan recently visited the White House and held a meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office for about 40 minutes. During the meeting, they reportedly discussed ways to make a breakthrough in the ongoing negotiations with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and LIV Golf. The PGA Tour requested President Trump to become involved in these negotiations.

During the meeting, President Trump also made an impromptu phone call to Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the Governor of the PIF. Since June 2023, the PGA Tour has been negotiating detailed implementation plans after agreeing to a joint venture with the PIF, which includes the merger of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, but a final agreement has yet to be reached. In particular, the PGA Tour is hoping for President Trump's assistance, as the U.S. Department of Justice has indicated concerns that the new entity being formed by the PIF and PGA Tour may violate antitrust laws.
