KT Alpha's Operating Profit Reaches 24.6 Billion KRW Last Year, Up 156% YoY

Record-high Operating Profit, Revenue Reaches 388.2 Billion KRW

KT Alpha recorded an operating profit of 24.6 billion KRW last year, marking the highest profit in its history. Strengthening profitability in the T-commerce sector and introducing differentiated products in the mobile gift certificate segment were key factors driving the performance increase.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 12th, KT Alpha posted an operating profit of 24.6 billion KRW last year, a 156% increase compared to 2023. Net profit also rose by 20% to 19.7 billion KRW, supported by the profit growth. Revenue declined slightly by 1.2% during the same period to 388.2 billion KRW due to a product portfolio restructuring strategy.


By business segment, T-commerce business (KT Alpha Shopping) sales recorded 275.3 billion KRW, down 4.6% from the previous year. Although sales decreased, focusing on solid management contributed to profit growth. KT Alpha Shopping reorganized its product and brand lineup to significantly strengthen its product portfolio. In particular, it renewed its private brand 'Le Toit' and launched exclusive brands such as 'Bruno J', 'Chowzen', 'Tabaroni Cashmere', 'Nero Giardini', and 'Fatmus', concentrating on developing the fashion category.


Additionally, KT Alpha recruited highly notable show hosts and celebrities and introduced specialized programs. The visuals and functions of TV, TV applications, and mobile apps were also significantly improved.


Sales in the mobile gift certificate business (Gifty Show) increased by 8.3% year-on-year to 112.8 billion KRW. Gifty Show is the leading company in the domestic mobile gift certificate B2B (business-to-business) market targeting corporate clients. Last year, it achieved strong results by providing differentiated products tailored to corporate clients’ large-scale marketing and employee welfare purposes. A KT Alpha representative stated, "This year, we will launch new products such as the integrated mobile gift certificate for Gifty Show and enhance service competitiveness. We will also stabilize the newly introduced promotional services for corporate clients from last year and secure them as new growth engines."
