Honam University Department of Airline Service Produces 27 Cabin Crew Members in 2 Years

Honam University announced on the 12th that the Department of Airline Service (headed by Jin Kyungmi) has produced 27 successful candidates for domestic and international cabin crew positions over the past two years, from 2023 to 2024.

Breaking down the 27 cabin crew hires by airline, there were 16 at Korean airlines and 11 at international airlines.

This achievement comes as airline recruitment resumed after the COVID-19 endemic, with more than 10,000 applicants on average competing fiercely for each job posting.

Recently, the department has produced successful candidates who passed the open recruitment for general positions at Korean Air and the Korea Airports Corporation, and graduates are also working in airport ground staff positions at airlines.

Established in 2011, the Honam University Department of Airline Service has thoroughly prepared students for employment through outstanding faculty instruction, student passion, an understanding of the latest trends in the aviation job market, and by holding annual Employment Success Skill Days.

In addition, the department is making efforts to diversify students' career paths through industry-academia partnerships with Asiana Airlines, Air Seoul, Air Busan, overseas employment agencies such as The Dream Bus, and the global chain JW Marriott Hotel, collaborating on special recruitment and Employment Success Skill Days.

Professor Lee Donghee (Employment BUM) of the Honam University Department of Airline Service said, "It is the result of the faculty and students working together with dedication throughout the entire process, which takes about three to four months and includes everything from application writing, non-face-to-face video interviews, AI competency assessments, discussion interviews, practical interviews, to final executive interviews, in order to pass the rigorous recruitment procedures.
