Shin Won-sik, Video Conference with Japan's National Security Director... "Cooperation on 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Normalization" Shin Won-sik, Director of the National Security Office, appeared as a witness on the 11th at the 7th hearing of President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial held at the Constitutional Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul, responding to questioning.

National Security Office Director Shin Won-sik held the first video conference on the afternoon of the 12th with Masataka Okano, Director of Japan's National Security Secretariat, combining it with a courtesy meeting, and exchanged views on Korea-Japan relations, Korea-US-Japan cooperation, and regional and international situations including the North Korean issue, the Presidential Office announced.


Both sides agreed that, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan this year, the two countries' security offices would take special interest and work together to continuously expand cooperation in various fields.


They also reaffirmed the need for continued Korea-Japan and Korea-US-Japan cooperation to respond to the serious situation, including North Korea's advancing nuclear and missile threats and illegal Russia-North Korea military cooperation.


Furthermore, the Presidential Office stated that both sides agreed to maintain close communication going forward, including continued cooperation on North Korean human rights issues such as abductees, detainees, and Korean War prisoners of war.
