"Eliminating Wasteful Elements in Educational Finance"
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 12th that through the 2025 academic year private school teacher personnel exchange, 10 private school teachers were dispatched to private and public schools.
The dispatch of private school teachers is being promoted through active communication and collaboration between the Gyeongbuk Office of Education and private schools to eliminate wasteful elements in educational finance through manpower reallocation and to improve the efficiency of personnel management.
Through the form of personnel exchange, among private school teachers, subject teachers, substitute teachers, and temporary teachers are dispatched to private schools of other corporations or public schools to work for one year in vacant positions at public and private schools, and then return to their original schools.
In this year’s case, among the 10 dispatched teachers, 5 subject teachers and 2 substitute teachers were dispatched to public schools, and 1 subject teacher, 1 substitute teacher, and 1 temporary teacher were dispatched to private schools of other corporations.
Through this, schools with teacher vacancies gain the opportunity to recruit excellent experienced teachers from other private schools instead of hiring temporary teachers, greatly helping students' life guidance and academic improvement.
Also, by not hiring temporary teachers, the burden of teacher personnel expenses on schools is reduced, and in this year’s case, a budget saving effect of about 506 million KRW is expected in school education finance.
Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, said, “We will continue to make greater efforts to expand the personnel exchange of private school teachers through active mutual communication and collaboration between our Office of Education and private schools.”
