The Busan Regional Office of Veterans Affairs under the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Lee Nam-il) Veterans Support Center held an internal commemorative event on the 4th floor of the building in the Park Jae-hyuk Room and the center office on the 11th to celebrate the 2025 Veterans Support Center Day.
In the morning, commemorative rice cakes were distributed to each department to celebrate the center's opening day together. Following a staff meeting during lunchtime, from 1 PM, a one-day class (making sea soap) was held for the center counselors who work hard to support the career transitions of veteran members, providing a moment to relieve stress.
Additionally, Kim Kwang-woo, Director of the Peace Memorial Hall and former Director of the Veterans Affairs Bureau at the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs as a long-term service veteran, was invited to have a communication session with the center counselors.
At this event, Director Kim encouraged the counselors who strive to support veterans in employment and entrepreneurship, sharing his own difficulties adapting to society after discharge as a veteran and his experiences preparing for a second life. He also urged the center to be a great support for veterans planning their new lives.
The Veterans Support Center under the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs first opened the Seoul Center on February 11, 2004, and the Busan Veterans Support Center opened on April 12, 2007. To commemorate the center's initial opening day, Veterans Support Center Day has been established and events have been held since 2021.
