‘Mulgeum, Cherry Blossoms Have Bloomed’
A Healing Festival at Hwangsan Park
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam held a meeting of the Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival Promotion Committee (Chairman Na Dong-yeon) on the 11th in the city hall's large conference room, deciding to hold this year’s festival over two days, March 29 and 30, at Hwangsan Park.
This festival, timed with the cherry blossom blooming season, will be held under the subtitle "Mulgeum, Cherry Blossoms Have Bloomed" at Hwangsan Park, aiming to create a healing festival that anyone can enjoy and to contribute to revitalizing the surrounding commercial district on March 29 and 30.
At the promotion committee meeting held that day, the 2025 Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival’s promotion plan and budget were reviewed and approved, with in-depth discussions on key areas such as program content, publicity plans, traffic, and safety management.
Looking at the main event details, official events such as the opening ceremony, congratulatory performances, and a cherry blossom path walking event are prepared, and diverse stage programs including children’s song performances, magic and bubble shows, and local youth band performances will be held.
Additionally, a photo exhibition titled “Mulgeum’s Yesterday and Today Exhibition Hall,” showcasing the history of Mulgeum-eup, will be operated. Family-friendly programs such as making cherry blossom canap?s and peppermint cherry blossom scent pouches will be available, along with the provision of A tent rest areas, offering families and couples visiting Hwangsan Park an opportunity to fully enjoy their outing.
In particular, the cherry blossom path (approximately 900 meters from Mulgeum West Underpass to the entrance of Hwangsan Camping Site) will be closed to vehicle access and operated exclusively for pedestrians for visitors’ convenience, with traffic control enforced for seven days before and after the festival period.
Established in 2024, the Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival Promotion Committee upgraded the cherry blossom festival, which had been organized by Mulgeum-eup until 2023, to a city-level event and held it for the first time. Under the subtitle “Hwangsan, Cherry Blossoms Have Bloomed,” it realized a family healing festival, attracting over 64,000 visitors over two days and achieving a successful spring festival.
Chairman Na Dong-yeon of the promotion committee stated, “This year, we plan to splendidly decorate the newly completed outdoor stage at Munju Plaza in Hwangsan Park as the main stage of the festival,” and added, “We hope all citizens and tourists visit Hwangsan Park, the largest riverside park along the Nakdong River, and enjoy the cherry blossom festival that awakens spring together.”
