Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it has donated 52 million won of the prize money awarded for achievements in various policies and projects last year to the special talent scholarship operated by the city’s education foundation.

The prize money donated as a scholarship this time was national and provincial funds received in recognition of achievements in various policies, including ▲excellent administration in the city and county comprehensive evaluation ▲support for low-income groups in the basic livelihood security sector ▲promotion of citizens' mental health related to the nationwide Mind Investment Project.
The donated prize money will be used as a special talent scholarship operated by the Osan City Education Foundation. The special talent scholarship is awarded to students who have shown outstanding achievements in various fields such as culture, arts, sports, and science. Sixty elementary, middle, and high school students and ten university freshmen are selected as recipients.
Lee Gwon-jae, mayor of Osan City, said, "This donation is a valuable case where our public officials actively participated in city administration and passed on the incentives earned to scholarships for talented students in the area," adding, "It will remain a good example that has a positive impact on the local community."
