Yongin City "We Support Upgrading Old Water Pipes"

For Houses Over 20 Years Old and Up to 130㎡ in Size
Support Up to 1.8 Million KRW for Indoor Water Pipes and Up to 600,000 KRW for Shared Piping

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting households for the 'Rust-Free Home Water Pipe Improvement Project' aimed at upgrading old water pipes.

Yongin City "We Support Upgrading Old Water Pipes"

The support targets are old houses over 20 years since completion that have received a 'non-compliant' result in water quality tests due to problems with indoor water supply pipes and shared piping, houses owned by basic livelihood security recipients and low-income households, social welfare facilities, and houses where indoor water supply facilities are installed with galvanized steel pipes.

The city will spend 106 million KRW this year to support the replacement of old water pipes in about 100 households. Support targets will be selected in order of smaller housing area. If there are many applicants, priority support targets will be separately selected.

The support amount varies according to the total floor area of the house. Houses over 85㎡ and up to 130㎡ will receive 30% of the construction cost, houses over 60㎡ and up to 85㎡ will receive 80% of the construction cost, and houses 60㎡ or less will receive up to 90% of the construction cost. Houses owned by basic livelihood security recipients or low-income households will receive full coverage of construction costs regardless of floor area.

The total construction cost applied will be the lower amount between the construction cost submitted by the applicant and the standard improvement construction cost. For indoor water supply pipes, support is up to 1.8 million KRW per household, and for shared piping, up to 600,000 KRW per household.

Houses included within neighborhood living facilities can only receive support if they are registered as 'houses' in the building register. Houses approved for redevelopment, reconstruction, or remodeling projects, or houses that have received water pipe improvement support within the last five years are excluded from support.

The application period is from the 17th of this month to May 30th. Interested households can download the application form from the Yongin City Waterworks and Sewerage Office website and submit it along with the required documents in person at the city's Water Facilities Division. Applications by email or fax are also accepted.
