"We Will Ensure Women-Owned Businesses Lead Korea in Overcoming the Crisis"
The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association held the '10th and 11th Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association President Inauguration and Retirement Ceremony' on the 12th at the Kbiz Hall of the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
The event was attended by Oh Young-joo, Minister of SMEs and Startups, Kwon Young-se, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, as well as National Assembly members Na Kyung-won, Jung Sung-ho, Lee In-seon, Cho Eun-hee, Shin Dong-wook, Kang Myung-gu, Oh Se-hee, former 8th president of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association Han Mu-gyeong, Industrial Convergence Promotion Ombudsman, and about 400 guests and members of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association.

The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association is the only statutory women’s economic organization in Korea, with a total of about 9,500 members active in the headquarters and 19 branches nationwide.
Newly appointed President Park Chang-sook stated in her inauguration speech, "Facing low growth, low birth rates, and prolonged domestic demand stagnation, I will take the lead so that women-owned businesses can overcome Korea’s crisis and drive growth," adding, "The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association will plant new seeds of hope for 3.26 million women-owned businesses and the Korean economy."
She presented five key focus areas: ▲ strengthening the association’s representation ▲ expanding global advancement of women-owned businesses ▲ fostering women-specialized technology-based industries ▲ reorganizing support systems for women business development projects ▲ and enhancing win-win cooperation among women-owned businesses.
On this day, the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association appointed former president Lee Jeong-han as honorary president, presenting him with a plaque and commemorative album to express gratitude for his efforts toward the development of the association and women-owned businesses during his term.
Minister Oh, in her congratulatory remarks, urged, "I hope President Park and the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, along with women’s economic organizations, will take the lead in driving new growth and leaps forward."
