Chonnam National University announced on the 12th that Professor Hwang Jungha from the Department of Life Welfare has been elected as the 19th president of the Korean Association of Child and Family Welfare. Her term will last for one year, until December 31.

Professor Hwang previously served as the vice dean of the College of Human Ecology at Chonnam National University, and has contributed to the innovation and development of community social security through various external activities, including serving as the chairperson of the Gwangju City Welfare Policy Advisory Committee and as a member of the Social Security Committee.

Professor Hwang stated, "With low birth rates and an aging population emerging as the most critical issues in our society, it is more important than ever to seek changes in family care and explore new care paradigms. I will do my best to establish the academic standing of the association and strengthen its practical role to provide better care alternatives."
