Applications Accepted Until the 14th of Next Month
Easing the Housing Burden

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 12th that applications for the "Housing Loan Interest Support Program for Newlyweds and Youth" will be accepted until the 14th of next month.

First launched in 2023 as a campaign pledge by Gochang-gun Mayor Shim Deokseop, the "Newlyweds Housing Loan Interest Support" program has since expanded its eligibility to include youth through ordinance revisions. The newlywed period has been extended from 5 to 7 years, and the number of times support can be applied for has increased from 3 to up to 5 times for those with children.

The county has allocated a budget of 150 million KRW, providing support of up to 2% of the outstanding loan balance per household (with a maximum limit of 2 million KRW).

The Gochang-gun Housing Loan Interest Support Program for Newlyweds and Youth has further enhanced its effectiveness by supporting not only jeonse (rental deposit) loans but also loans for home purchases.

Eligibility is limited to newlyweds and youth within 7 years of marriage registration, and all applicants must have been registered residents of Gochang-gun for at least 6 months as of the application date. The combined annual income of married couples must not exceed 80 million KRW, and for youth applicants, 40 million KRW.

Applications are open until the 14th of next month. Applicants must submit the required documents and undergo eligibility screening at their local town or township office. Detailed information can be found in the notices section of the Gochang-gun official website.

Mayor Shim Deokseop stated, "I hope this program will be a solid stepping stone to ease the housing burden for newlyweds and youth," adding, "We will continue to fully support housing welfare policies so that everyone can nurture their dreams in a stable home."
