Explaining the Validity and Necessity of Local Finance Investment Review Projects
and Requesting Positive Consideration
Jo Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, visited the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 11th to promote major pending projects.
First, he visited the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and met with Han Soon-gi, Director of the Local Finance and Economy Office, to explain the validity and necessity of the local finance investment review projects, which are preliminary administrative procedures for promoting major projects, and requested positive consideration.
The projects submitted for local finance investment review this time include the Sinandong Sports Town construction project, and if the investment review is passed, it is expected to give great momentum to the promotion of projects for citizens' enjoyment of sports and culture.
Mayor Jo Gyu-il is explaining the validity and necessity of the local finance investment review projects requested by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and is requesting a positive review.
Next, he met with Ahn Sang-yeol, Director of Fiscal Management at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and reiterated a request for active cooperation to expedite the ‘Jinju Jeongchon-myeon to Sacheon Sacheon-eup National Road 3·33 Bypass Road Construction Project.’ This followed the visit of Jinju city officials to the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s feasibility review department on the 6th, and Mayor Jo emphasized once again the necessity of the project.
The National Roads 3 and 33 connecting Jinju and Sacheon are sections with heavy traffic during commuting hours and weekends due to increased travel to the southern region, and with the future development of the Gyeongnam Aerospace National Industrial Complex, traffic congestion is expected to worsen. Accordingly, the bypass road construction project was recognized for its feasibility and selected as a preliminary feasibility study project by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in January this year.
The city expects that if the bypass road construction project is promptly promoted, it will greatly help alleviate severe traffic congestion and establish a convenient living zone between Jinju and Sacheon, pioneering the aerospace era.
Mayor Jo Gyu-il said, “I will continue to do my best to realize a prosperous Jinju through ongoing exchanges with central government ministries so that projects for the development of Jinju and its citizens can proceed without any setbacks.”
