Gokseong County Launches 'Sun-Sun Payment Campaign' to Support Small Business Owners

Gokseong County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Jo Sangrae) has launched the "Seon-Seon (Goodness-First) Payment Campaign" to boost the morale of small business owners.

According to the county on the 11th, the "Seon-Seon Payment Campaign" is being implemented to support local small business owners and self-employed people who are struggling with high inflation and weakened consumer sentiment.

The purpose is for county departments and towns to prepay 10% of their business operation expenses at small businesses, in order to help local businesses suffering from worsening economic conditions. The county plans to execute approximately 55 million KRW through this campaign by the end of this month.

As the first participant in the "Seon-Seon Payment Campaign," Governor Jo Sangrae visited restaurants, bakeries, and cafes in Gokseong-eup during lunchtime. In response to a question about whether many county office employees visit, a restaurant owner said, "Business has been really tough lately, but I am grateful and greatly helped that the county and its staff are taking the initiative to visit us first."

Governor Jo Sangrae said, "I hope not only county employees but also related organizations will take interest and participate in the 'Seon-Seon Payment Campaign' so that it can provide even a little help to small business owners."
