Muan County Opens Additional Adult Literacy Classes to Provide Learning Opportunities

Four Classes Operated Year-Round
Korean Literacy Education Tailored to Each Class Level

Muan County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Kim San) announced that on the 11th, it launched an additional adult literacy class to provide learning opportunities for illiterate adults who missed the chance to learn.


Following the opening at the Muan County Complex Culture Center on the 5th, the Women Farmers and Fishers Center, which opened as the second location, will operate four classes year-round to meet the needs of elderly learners in the surrounding areas. Various programs will be offered, including Korean literacy education tailored to each class level, as well as English, mathematics, and creative experiential activities.

In addition, various programs such as the National Adult Literacy Education Poetry Exhibition, year-end achievement sharing events, and mobile life literacy classes will be operated in a timely manner throughout the year to further enhance the joy of learning for elderly students.


Governor Kim San said, "I hope the literacy class at the Women Farmers and Fishers Center will help improve the quality of life for the elderly," and added, "We will continue to open additional adult literacy classes to expand educational opportunities for illiterate seniors and will keep making efforts at the county level."


Meanwhile, the county plans to operate adult literacy classes for about 140 students at eight locations this year, and from March, additional customized adult literacy classes will be launched according to the schedule of each facility.
