Last month, the Ministry guided MBC to conduct an internal investigation and requested the submission of related materials. The decision on whether to proceed with a special labor inspection was to be made based on the progress of the internal investigation and the submission of materials by the company.

However, after the bereaved family recently expressed their refusal to participate in MBC’s internal fact-finding investigation, and with additional victim issues raised beyond the deceased, as well as petitions from labor unions for a special inspection, the Ministry decided to carry out the special labor inspection.

Through this inspection, the Ministry plans to examine various facts related to the harassment and other issues currently being raised. It will also assess the organizational culture and check for violations of labor laws, taking strict action against any legal violations. Furthermore, it will actively guide to prevent similar cases from occurring in the future.

The Ministry explained, "Since a related complaint has been filed regarding violations of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, an investigation is also underway."
