The resident-participation budgeting system is a system that guarantees citizens the right to directly propose projects and participate in the budget formulation process, aiming to enhance transparency and democracy in financial management.

The call for proposals targets projects that Yeongju City hopes to implement in 2026, including △idea projects reflecting regional characteristics △projects for socially vulnerable groups △safety accident prevention projects, and other projects closely related to residents' daily lives.

Eligibility to participate includes not only citizens registered as residents of Yeongju City but also business owners and employees with business locations in Yeongju, as well as students enrolled in schools located in Yeongju.

Applicants can submit project proposals through various methods: △online application (City Hall website) △in-person submission (City Hall Planning and Budget Office or Eup/Myeon/Dong Administrative Welfare Centers) △mail △fax △email.

Proposed projects will undergo a practical review by the responsible department, followed by deliberation by the Resident Participation Budget Committee and a citizen preference survey before final selection. Selected projects will be reflected in the 2026 budget.

Mayor Park Nam-seo stated, “The resident-participation budgeting system is an important system that allows citizens to directly participate in city administration and propose necessary projects,” and added, “Through this call for proposals, we ask for the interest and suggestions of many citizens so that creative policy projects and resident-effective, tangible close-to-life projects can be discovered.”

The city is recruiting resident participation budget committee members, who will be responsible for collecting resident opinions and deliberations during the budget formulation process, until the 17th. For more details, please contact the Planning and Budget Office.
