Jeon Mankwon, Asan Mayoral Candidate: "Police-Related Issues to Become Visible in First Half of This Year"

Stance Announced on Police Hospital, Second Central Police Academy, and Police Medical Town

Jeon Mankwon, Asan Mayoral Candidate: "Police-Related Issues to Become Visible in First Half of This Year" Jeon Mankwon, a preliminary candidate for the re-election of Asan mayor from the People Power Party, is explaining the police issues in the Chosadong area on the 11th.

Jeon Mankwon, a preliminary candidate from the People Power Party running in the Asan mayoral by-election in Chungnam scheduled for April 2, stated on the 11th, "Key police-related issues in the Chosa-dong area will be made visible within the first half of this year."

On this day, Jeon held a press conference at the city hall briefing room and shared his stance on major issues in Chosa-dong, such as the establishment of a police hospital, the second Central Police Academy, and the Police Medical Town.

Regarding the police hospital, he said, "The goal is to establish it as a disaster hub hospital for the central region," adding, "A preliminary feasibility study is currently underway at KDI (Korea Development Institute), and the results are expected within the first half of this year."

He emphasized, "We will maintain a scale of 550 beds, 24 departments, and 6 centers, and ensure that both police officers and ordinary citizens can use the facility together."

Regarding the second Central Police Academy, he said, "The existing Central Police Academy in Chungju has outdated facilities and poor accessibility, so I believe Asan is the optimal location," adding, "A B/C analysis (benefit-cost analysis) of the candidate sites is currently underway, and the results are expected within the first half of this year."

On the creation of the Police Medical Town, he said, "We plan to train specialized medical staff and establish a comprehensive medical complex equipped with a severe trauma center and disaster response facilities," adding, "To match the completion timing with the police hospital, I will work closely with Governor Kim Taeheum of Chungnam and the Chungnam Development Corporation to ensure swift progress."

Jeon stressed, "We will form a dedicated task force centered on the mayor and make every effort," adding, "Through securing the budget and expediting procedures, we will show citizens a definite change."
