Ranked 6th in Advertising Effectiveness
Among 60 Super Bowl Commercials
Cheil Worldwide's North American subsidiary McKinney announced on the 11th that it has launched a Super Bowl commercial for the famous American pizza brand 'Little Caesars' during the National Football League (NFL) championship game.
Founded in 1959, Little Caesars is the third-largest pizza chain brand in the United States and the official pizza sponsor of the NFL. It has maintained a marketing partnership with McKinney since 2019. McKinney also produced Little Caesars' first-ever Super Bowl commercial in 2020.
This commercial aired during the first quarter of the 59th Super Bowl held on the 10th. It was designed to increase awareness of Little Caesars' popular menu item, 'Crazy Puffs.' The 30-second commercial features well-known actor and comedian Eugene Levy.
After taking a bite of a Crazy Puff, Eugene Levy utters the exclamation "Whoa!", which is the title of the commercial. His trademark thick eyebrows raise as humorous scenes unfold, showing winged bugs flying around and startling people.
Little Caesars' Super Bowl commercial ranked 6th in the Super Bowl ad rankings announced by iSpot.tv, a TV advertising effectiveness research company. iSpot.tv conducts surveys on preference, brand awareness, and purchase intent for about 60 Super Bowl commercials this year with over 500 expert panelists, selecting the top 10 ads.
Industry insiders estimate that the average cost of this year’s Super Bowl ads is similar to last year’s, at around $7 million (approximately 1.12 billion KRW) per 30 seconds. It is reported that many ads were sold at a record price of $8 million (approximately 1.16 billion KRW) per 30 seconds.
Meanwhile, McKinney continues to expand its non-affiliated advertisers across various industries in North America, including food and beverage, bio, finance, and distribution. Last year, it contributed to Cheil Worldwide achieving double-digit growth in the North American market. A Cheil Worldwide official stated, “This year as well, we plan to drive our clients’ business growth by providing customized solutions based on the market and consumer expertise accumulated in the North American region.”
