Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Noh Dongil, hereafter Jeonnam Sarangui-Yeolmae) announced on the 10th that it has been selected as the top branch by receiving the highest S grade in the "2024 Branch Evaluation" conducted for 18 regional branches of the Community Chest of Korea nationwide.
Jeonnam Sarangui-Yeolmae ranked first among all branches nationwide as a result of achieving excellent scores in each of the four areas?fundraising, allocation, publicity, and organizational management?across 12 indicators in last year’s performance evaluation.
Jeonnam Sarangui-Yeolmae analyzed that it received high scores in all four areas?fundraising, allocation, publicity, and organizational management?due to factors such as ▲increase rate and amount of cash donations ▲discovery and expansion of individual regular donors ▲discovery and retention of corporate donors ▲efforts to communicate with the field during allocation ▲promotion of the culture of sharing and expanding its base.
Jeonnam Sarangui-Yeolmae raised a total of 23,636,000,000 KRW last year, exceeding its target of 22,100,000,000 KRW by 1,536,000,000 KRW (including 545,000,000 KRW from the special fundraising for the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster), achieving a fundraising rate of 106.9%. This was made possible by the participation of 1.78 million Jeonnam residents, each donating an average of 13,280 KRW.
In particular, in cash fundraising, they collected 16,933,000,000 KRW, exceeding the target by 112.1%, which accounted for 72.5% of the total funds raised and led to surpassing the fundraising goal.
The main reasons for the increase in cash fundraising were the continuous growth of the local culture of sharing, including ▲"Nanum Myeongmun Gieop," companies participating as model donors ▲"Honor Society," a group of high-value individual donors ▲"Chakan Ilteo," where company employees donate together ▲"Chakan Gage," where small business owners donate a certain amount of their monthly income.
Last year, Jeonnam Sarangui-Yeolmae not only excelled in fundraising but also supported the social welfare field and neighbors in need in Jeonnam with a total of 27,900,000,000 KRW, including 5,550,000,000 KRW for planned projects, 560,000,000 KRW for emergency support, 1,390,000,000 KRW from lottery funds, 1,320,000,000 KRW for application-based projects, 12,380,000,000 KRW for designated donations, and 6,700,000,000 KRW for goods distribution projects.
This year as well, including last year’s fundraising and additional allocation support from the central association, Jeonnam Sarangui-Yeolmae plans to support various fields such as education and independence for children, youth, the elderly, people with disabilities, women, and families in crisis, as well as psychological and emotional support, social care, health and medical services, and welfare infrastructure development.
Noh Dongil, Chairman of Jeonnam Sarangui-Yeolmae, said, “The reason Jeonnam Sarangui-Yeolmae was able to be selected as the top branch among the 18 branches nationwide is thanks to the residents of Jeonnam who, despite economic difficulties, prioritized helping neighbors in need and participated in the culture of sharing. I ask for your continued participation and interest so that Jeonnam can continue to be a warm community living together with our neighbors this year as well.”
