On the 10th, Dangjin City in Chungnam announced that it had signed a business agreement for the Tourism Dure Project with the Korea Tourism Organization at the Daejeon-Chungnam branch of the Korea Tourism Organization.
At the signing ceremony, Dangjin Mayor Oh Seonghwan and Shim Hongyong, head of the Daejeon-Chungnam branch of the Korea Tourism Organization, attended and pledged mutual cooperation between the two organizations for the Tourism Dure Project to vitalize local tourism.
The 'Tourism Dure Project' is a program that supports the establishment and nurturing of tourism businesses led by local residents, utilizing local resources to create and sell accommodations, food and beverages, travel, experiences, and souvenirs.
Dangjin City and the Korea Tourism Organization plan to provide administrative and financial support so that residents, together with the Tourism Dure PD, can start or manage tourism businesses that reflect the unique characteristics of the region.
Oh Seonghwan, Mayor of Dangjin, said, "Through the Tourism Dure Project, we will discover and foster resident-led tourism businesses and develop tourism content tailored to the region to enhance our tourism competitiveness."
Meanwhile, Dangjin City was selected as a new region for the '2025 Tourism Dure' in January and appointed Park Hyangju as the Tourism Dure PD. Business briefings will be held to discover resident businesses, and the final selected businesses can receive up to 110 million KRW in support for up to five years.
