Donation of Wildfire Prevention Cables to LADWP
Active Cooperation in Power Infrastructure Restoration
Daehan Electric Wire announced on the 10th that it donated power cables worth $100,000 to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) to restore the power infrastructure in LA damaged by wildfires in Los Angeles (LA), USA.
LADWP is the largest public power utility in the United States, responsible for supplying electricity and water to the LA area. After the recent wildfires, LADWP has been focusing on restoring the power infrastructure using donated supplies from various sources.
Daehan Electric Wire donated cables developed in cooperation with major power companies in California to prevent wildfires occurring in the western United States. The development was completed in 2018, and the cables have passed quality and technical verification tests. They are rare enough that only a few companies in the U.S. can produce and supply them. Over the past five years, Daehan Electric Wire has supplied this product to the western U.S. region alone in amounts exceeding 100 billion KRW.
Daehan Electric Wire plans to actively participate in the power infrastructure restoration project. Having already completed product supply and technical verification, the company will promptly respond to urgent demands for power infrastructure reconstruction while providing technical support through close communication with local power companies.
A representative from Daehan Electric Wire said, "We hope this will provide practical help to communities struggling due to wildfire damage," adding, "As a major power grid supplier in the U.S., we will support the specialized technologies needed for power infrastructure reconstruction and disaster prevention and continue to expand cooperation."
