Focusing on Revitalizing the Local Economy...
Applications Accepted Until the 28th
Jangheung County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Sung) will provide 300,000 KRW in public utility fee support to local small business owners who are facing a management crisis due to economic downturn and declining sales.
According to the county on the 10th, the support targets are about 400 restaurants with annual sales of less than 104 million KRW and fewer than five regular employees. This support has been prepared to stabilize the management of restaurants, which are the standard for revitalizing the local economy, and to encourage their use.
As part of the comprehensive livelihood economy measures announced by Jeollanam-do in December last year, a total of 120 million KRW, including 60 million KRW from the county budget, will be invested to ease the burden of fixed costs for small business owners and support management stability. Eligible recipients are restaurant businesses operating in Jangheung County as of December 16, 2024.
Eligible applicants must bring relevant documents, such as their business registration certificate, and apply in person at the administrative welfare center or the Economic and Industrial Division of the county office by the 28th.
The county is also promoting various support policies for small business owners, such as contributing to the Jeonnam Credit Guarantee Foundation's guarantee fund to provide financial support (guarantee supply, credit recovery, and business restart) for those lacking collateral, supporting interest subsidies for small business loans, providing incentives for joining the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid, training 10,000 digital small business owners, and activating the public delivery app Meokgaebi to ease the burden of brokerage fees.
Governor Kim Sung said, "We are discovering and promoting new support projects for small business owners struggling with prolonged economic recession, high prices, and high interest rates," and added, "We plan to lay the foundation for expanding small business support policies through ordinance revisions and securing additional budgets through supplementary appropriations."
