Jeollanam-do has announced its '2025 Jeollanam-do Local Government Official Recruitment Plan,' aiming to hire 1,394 new local government officials this year.

By institution, 92 will be assigned to Jeollanam-do and 1,302 to cities and counties (including 16 for city and county councils).

By rank, there will be 1 at level 6, 52 at level 7, 1,287 at levels 8 and 9, 25 researchers, and 29 guidance officers. By job series, there will be 529 in administration, 181 in facilities, 96 in social welfare, and 63 in agriculture, among others.

To expand opportunities for disadvantaged groups, 195 positions are reserved for people with disabilities, 35 for those from low-income backgrounds, 20 for veterans, and 32 for high school graduates.

Starting this year, the written test time for the open competitive recruitment exam for levels 8 and 9 will be extended from 100 to 110 minutes. The Korean and English subjects will focus more on evaluating practical thinking skills relevant to the job, moving away from rote memorization.

The list of additional qualifications for the forestry category will now include the Tree Doctor license, and for the Rural Guidance Officer (Agricultural Machinery) written exam, the subject 'Agricultural Dynamics' will be changed to 'Agricultural Machinery.'

Jeollanam-do will also significantly strengthen the interview process by introducing personality tests and in-depth interviews to select outstanding talent with integrity.

Additionally, to meet the demand for field staff in livestock quarantine, the written test requirement for veterinary and veterinary research positions will be waived starting in 2024, lowering the entry barrier. Additional recruitment exams will also be held in the second half of the year to minimize any gaps in service.
