Acting Commissioner of the National Police Agency, Lee Ho-young, promoted two officers who contributed to the arrest of the Telegram sexual exploitation organization ‘Jagyeongdan’ on the 10th.
Detective Kang Gil-byeong and Officer Son Sae-gyeol of the Cyber Investigation Unit at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency dismantled the largest-ever cyber sexual violence organization. The total number of victims in this case is 234, more than three times that of the ‘Baksa Room’ case.
The leader and members of Jagyeongdan committed inhumane and sadistic crimes from May 2020 to January 2025, including the production and distribution of child and adolescent sexual exploitation materials, rape of children and adolescents, and ordering forced molestation among victims.
The promoted officers utilized undercover and covert investigations, obtained and executed search warrants for Telegram counterparts, and received crime-related information, thereby achieving international cooperation for the first time. Through this, they arrested 54 members including the leader, dismantled the organization, and made thorough efforts to protect the victims.
