Mr. A is accused of secretly putting drugs into a drink while the female owner, Ms. B, was away from her regular pub in Geumho-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, around 11 p.m. on the 7th.

Ms. B, who was drinking with regular customer Mr. A, felt unwell and went to the hospital, where a rapid drug test detected methamphetamine.

Earlier, around 12:40 a.m., Mr. A also failed to pay for several tens of thousands of won worth of alcohol he drank alone at another bar in Pungam-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.

When police arrived following the owner's report and attempted to conduct a basic investigation including personal information, Mr. A kicked an officer in the face and verbally abused them, leading to his arrest on the spot.

During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly denied the charges, stating that he received the substance from an acquaintance and did not know it was a drug.

The police plan to investigate the circumstances under which Mr. A, who has a prior record of similar offenses, obtained the drugs.
