Daewoo E&C announced on the 10th that it received the highest grade, Leadership A, in the climate change response category in the evaluation by the global sustainability management assessment organization Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
CDP is a non-profit international organization established in the UK in 2000 that annually requests information from major companies worldwide regarding their climate change response strategies, risk and opportunity management capabilities, and greenhouse gas reduction efforts, and publishes reports analyzing this data. The company explained that due to the wide scope of information collection and the extensive disclosure, CDP is recognized as a credible ESG evaluation index alongside the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
Daewoo E&C has designated 2022 as the inaugural year of sustainable management and has made various efforts toward carbon neutrality and greenhouse gas reduction. While formulating mid- to long-term plans, the company is developing eco-friendly concrete that reduces carbon emissions and is also pursuing related certifications and carbon credit acquisition plans. The company stated, "Our efforts to respond to climate change have borne fruit, and we will continue to make carbon reduction efforts that meet global standards."
