Korea Customs Service Announces Recruitment of Companies for 'Innovation Premier 1000' Program

The Korea Customs Service announced on the 10th that it will recruit 10 outstanding companies in the customs administration sector to participate in the ‘Innovation Premier 1000’ project.


The Innovation Premier 1000 project is led by the Financial Services Commission and implemented in collaboration with 13 government ministries including the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Korea Customs Service, Korean Intellectual Property Office, and Defense Acquisition Program Administration, as well as six policy financial institutions including the Korea Development Bank, Industrial Bank of Korea, Export-Import Bank of Korea, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, and Korea Growth Investment Corporation.


The purpose of the project is to discover small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies with growth potential and provide comprehensive support in both financial and non-financial areas.


On the 10th, the Korea Customs Service posted the recruitment announcement on its website and will begin accepting applications from the 17th. After a disqualification review by the Policy Finance Comprehensive Support Team, 10 companies will be finally selected to participate in the project.


Eligibility requires companies to operate in items specified in the ‘6th revision of the Innovation Growth Joint Standards’ (see recruitment announcement for details) and meet selection criteria including those in the customs administration sector. Companies in the ‘5 major strategic focus areas’ such as advanced strategic industries and future promising industries may receive preferential treatment during the selection process.


Companies wishing to apply must submit their application forms and supporting documents to the Export-Import Enterprise Support Center at the headquarters customs office with jurisdiction over their location between 9:00 AM on the 17th and 5:00 PM on the 28th. Detailed information including disqualification reasons can be found in the recruitment announcement posted on the website.


After screening, the Korea Customs Service plans to notify the Policy Finance Comprehensive Support Team of the recommended companies next month. The finally selected companies will receive the highest level of benefits provided by policy financial institutions along with comprehensive support policies in customs administration.


Ko Gwang-hyo, Commissioner of the Korea Customs Service, stated, “The Korea Customs Service plans to strengthen cooperation with government ministries and related organizations so that outstanding companies in customs administration can receive more diverse support.”
