42dot to Promote Smart City and Robotaxi Demonstration Project in Qatar

42dot will demonstrate smart city solutions and robo-taxi services in Qatar. The company has formed a business partnership with local firm Protocol Capital to collaborate on implementing mobility-based smart city initiatives.

On the 10th, 42dot announced that last month it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation on the Qatar smart city project with the Protocol Capital Group at 42dot’s new headquarters located in Pangyo, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province.

Through this agreement, 42dot will operate and maintain autonomous driving-based robo-taxi services and vehicle control solutions in central Doha, Qatar. It plans to manage, integrate, and analyze urban mobility data to provide differentiated mobility services.

In particular, 42dot will use its self-developed integrated vehicle call platform to analyze real-time traffic conditions and dispatch robo-taxis via optimal routes, while building an intelligent control system to realize future urban services.

Qatar’s Protocol Capital Group is a company focusing on real estate, hospitality, and manufacturing sectors in Qatar, Europe, and the United States. Under this agreement, it will actively support the Ministry of Transport, a government agency in Qatar, in promoting smart city projects.

This MOU is regarded as an important foothold for realizing Qatar’s national vision project, “National Vision 2030.” Both parties plan to successfully introduce smart city solutions and autonomous vehicle services within Doha, Qatar, and gradually expand the scope of cooperation aiming for Qatar’s smart city transformation by 2030.

Song Changhyun, CEO of 42dot, stated, “This collaboration will be an opportunity to globally expand 42dot’s technological capabilities and innovations,” adding, “Through cooperation with Protocol Capital Group, we will lead the global smart city model and set new standards for future cities.”

42dot is a mobility AI company established in 2019. As Hyundai Motor Group’s global software center, it focuses on developing SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) technologies and is developing data platforms for smart mobility services.
