Promoting New Registration of 14 Parcels of National and Public Land (2,344.4㎡) by February 2025
Securing Public Property Worth Approximately 7.35 Billion KRW, Making a Significant Contribution to National Finances
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) is promoting the "New Registration Project for Unregistered Land in the Cadastral Register," which newly registers 14 parcels of national and public land (2,344.4㎡) that are not registered in the second cadastral register.
This project was initiated during the process of promoting the digital cadastral (forest) map quality improvement project, which converts and registers paper maps into digital maps, by investigating and newly registering lands omitted from the cadastral maps.
The cadastral register refers to the land (forest) ledger and cadastral (forest) maps that indicate and record land ownership and boundaries.
For this project, Mapo-gu conducted a full survey and analysis of related materials such as closed land ledgers, closed cadastral maps, and survey result maps. Additionally, it signed a business agreement with the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX) to carry out cadastral surveying.
The unregistered lands include 9 parcels of national land (1,230.6㎡) and 5 parcels of city-owned land (1,113.8㎡). The 9 parcels of national land (1,230.6㎡) are non-taxable lands such as roads, drainage ditches, and rivers that were omitted during the Japanese colonial registration and have now been newly registered. The 5 parcels of city-owned land (1,113.8㎡) were omitted during the land readjustment projects in Gongdeok, Daehyeon, and Seongsan, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, as the project executor, was provided with the new registration survey results to guide the application process.
This project enables preemptive resolution of disputes that may arise in development projects or land transactions. Furthermore, by securing public property worth approximately 7.35 billion KRW based on official land prices, it is expected to significantly contribute to national finances. Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, “Through this project, we have improved the accuracy of the cadastral register and enhanced the credibility of cadastral administration. Mapo-gu will continue to actively protect the property rights of residents by improving cadastral administrative services.”
Dobong-gu Operates Intensive Regulation Discovery Period... Collecting Opinions from Residents and Others
February 10?25, Proposals via Email or District Office... During this Period, Direct On-site Visits by Mayor and Officials for Businesses
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is launching a large-scale regulatory abolition campaign. The plan is to revise all regulations that cause inconvenience to residents and hinder the livelihood economy during this opportunity.
The district announced that February 10?25 will be designated as an intensive regulation discovery period to collect opinions from residents, business operators, and public officials.
The opinion collection will be conducted in three main areas. First, a contest will be held where residents can directly propose ideas related to regulations.
Anyone nationwide can participate in the contest and propose not only inconveniences experienced in daily life but also policy improvement measures. Proposals can be submitted by February 25 via email to the person in charge or to the Dobong-gu Office Planning and Budget Division. Submissions through the National Petition System are also accepted.
After initial review by the relevant departments, a judging committee will be held in March to select excellent proposals with significant resident impact for awards. Awards will be given according to the Dobong-gu Proposal System Ordinance, with a total prize amount of 4.8 million KRW. For business operators or related workers residing in Dobong-gu, such as small business owners and self-employed persons, proposals will be accepted through direct on-site visits.
These visits will be conducted by Mayor Oh Eon-seok and senior district officials. During the visits, they will not only receive proposals but also listen to difficulties experienced in various industrial sectors. A district official stated, “We will actively request Seoul Metropolitan Government and central government to significantly ease complex and stringent regulations by industry and will internally improve unreasonable elements such as administrative convenience procedures and customs.”
There are also plans to discover hidden regulations, involving public officials responsible for policies and projects. The district has conducted a full survey of resident and business complaints related to regulations over the past three years and will comprehensively re-examine issues previously classified as medium- to long-term matters or rejected tasks. Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “We will prioritize the convenience of small business owners and residents who are going through difficult times due to prolonged economic downturn and will actively root out unreasonable regulations and unnecessary administrative procedures.”
