Democratic Party: "Lee Jae-myung to Pledge Building a True Democratic Republic"
Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong Scheduled to Deliver Speech on the 11th
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, will deliver negotiation group representative speeches on the 10th and 11th. Lee is expected to focus on 'overcoming the insurrection,' while Kwon is likely to criticize the Democratic Party's parliamentary dominance.
A Democratic Party official stated on the 9th that "Lee's negotiation group representative speech will be themed 'Recovery and Growth'." This centers on proposing ways to overcome the current situation where President Yoon Seok-yeol is detained on charges of being the ringleader of an insurrection and impeachment proceedings are underway at the Constitutional Court.
Lee plans to emphasize the need to create new growth engines for a robust social safety net. He will propose distribution through growth. As measures for growth, he intends to highlight national support and nurturing policies for industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), bio, K-Culture, and other content industries.
He will also stress responses to the climate crisis. Lee plans to propose a national balanced development policy that turns the climate crisis into an opportunity for the Korean Peninsula and advocate for national support.

Measures to overcome the political situation following the declaration of martial law will also be presented. Lee is known to pledge that the Democratic Party will take the lead in building a 'true democratic republic' where the will of the sovereign is reflected in state affairs based on overcoming the insurrection and national unity.
Through this negotiation group representative speech, Lee is expected to present his presidential election blueprint and use the opportunity to demonstrate that he can be a stable ruling force.
The People Power Party is expected to focus on criticizing Lee, the top opposition presidential candidate in the event of an early presidential election triggered by the acceptance of President Yoon's impeachment and dismissal. They are likely to criticize the Democratic Party's series of legislative dominance, including impeachment petitions and forced legislation during the current administration. They will point out that the Democratic Party bears significant responsibility for the current political, economic, and security difficulties.
Additionally, questions about the sincerity of Lee's recent rightward shift are expected to be raised.
Furthermore, Floor Leader Kwon is also expected to express positions on constitutional amendments and supplementary budgets. Attention will be paid to whether positions on the formation of the National Assembly's Constitutional Amendment Special Committee and supplementary budget formulation will be announced.
After the negotiation group speeches, the National Assembly will conduct government questioning sessions from the 12th to the 14th.
