The People Power Party Gyeongbuk Provincial Party Committee's Nomination Management Committee (Chairman Assemblyman Gu Ja-geun) announced on the 8th that after two days of public recruitment, the application period for nominations for the by-elections to be held in April has closed, with six candidates applying for the Kimcheon mayoral position and two candidates applying for the Goryeong County councilor position.
The candidates for Kimcheon mayor are Kim Se-hwan (63), former deputy mayor of Gumi City; Kim Eung-gyu (69), former chairman of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council; Bae Nak-ho (67), former chairman of the Kimcheon City Council; Seo Beom-seok (62), former director of the Kimcheon Agricultural Technology Center; Lee Chang-jae (61), former deputy mayor of Kimcheon City; and Im In-bae (71), former member of the National Assembly, all of whom have submitted their nomination applications.
Additionally, for the Goryeong County councilor (Goryeong County Na) position, two candidates have applied: Na Young-wan (58), People Power Party Dasan-myeon Operations Committee member, and Seong Hyun-deok (56), chairman of the Goryeong County Education Development Committee.
