Gyeongsangnam-do is recruiting six companies to participate in the "23rd World Korean Business Convention 2025."
On the 7th, Gyeongnam Province announced that it is recruiting companies to respond to the export crisis caused by increased uncertainty in the external trade environment and to support the establishment of a global network for consumer goods export companies in the province and the development of sales channels in the U.S. market.
This convention is considered the world's largest overseas Korean business event hosted by the Ministry of Overseas Koreans, the Federation of Korean Associations, USA, and overseas Korean economic organizations.
This year, about 4,000 domestic and overseas Korean business representatives and approximately 50,000 visitors are expected to participate.
The event will be held for four days from April 17 to 20 at the Gas South Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
During this period, various programs such as company exhibitions, seminars, one-on-one business meetings, and startup competitions will be held.
Participating companies will receive support including ▲business consultation matching with buyers discovered through the economic network ▲individual booths per company ▲one-way airfare for one person per company ▲50% interpretation fee support.
Applications are open to small and medium-sized enterprises in the consumer goods sector within the province, and the recruitment period is from the 10th to the 19th of this month.
Applicants can check related information such as submission documents on the Gyeongnam Overseas Marketing Employee Support System's project announcement and apply online.
The province plans to give preferential treatment during marketability evaluation to companies holding local certifications such as the U.S. FDA for food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or FCC or UL for electronic products.
The final participating companies will be selected at the end of this month through a comprehensive evaluation of marketability, export performance, and export readiness, and a pre-briefing session will be held after selection.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Gyeongnam International Trade Division or the Korea Trade Association Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters.
Additionally, information related to export support projects supported by Gyeongsangnam-do this year can be found through the "Gyeongsangnam-do Overseas Marketing Business Support System" and the "Gyeongnam Enterprise 119" platform.
A Gyeongnam Province official said, "Although difficulties in SME exports are expected due to increased uncertainty in the trade environment following the inauguration of the new Trump administration, participation in this convention, where overseas Korean entrepreneurs, experts from various fields, and business leaders gather to understand market trends and build networks, is expected to serve as a breakthrough in overcoming the export crisis."
